Beyond Sustainability:
Contracted Tomato Operations

Considering the Turkish taste, historical flavor heritage and eating habits, we can easily say that tomato and the tomato-based sauces are indispensable to our tables.

As tomato constitutes 40% of the vegetable production volume in Turkey, it goes beyond just a product and consumer good, and turns into a critical value source in terms of economy for our country.

Strengthening the Farmers of Our Country

Konfrut cooperates with the farmers with long-term contracts for conventional and organic tomato production in three different regions of Turkey.

Within the scope of the contracted tomato project supporting the farmers of our country, Konfrut conducts organic and conventional tomato plantation activities together with the tomato farmers from İzmir to Diyarbakır.

Konfrut’s expert teams work shoulder-to-shoulder with the farmers on the field in all processes from earthing to plantation, from growth to harvesting of products, and to transportation and storage in accordance with the food regulations.

We provide the farmers with financial, digital agricultural instrument and modern agricultural equipment supports throughout the process of growth, as well as training on subjects such as optimum irrigation, integrated pest management, use of agricultural inputs, biodiversity and crop yield.

As in the other contracted agriculture projects, Konfrut supports its farmers with modern agricultural practices such as monitoring of field health via satellite, agricultural irrigation sensor, climate & soil moisture and temperature stations, digital soil analysis and digital pest traps in the contracted tomato production process as well, striving to protect water resources and prevent excessive use of manure/pesticide.

Always focusing on high yield, Konfrut provides its farmers with high-quality and high-yield seedlings, manures and pesticides for ultimate product quality.

Colour values and physical properties of the harvested products are of utmost importance. Konfrut conducts the pesticide and residue analyses of the product samples taken from the fields in its own laboratories and confirms its results with the tests performed in independent laboratories.

Konfrut’s organic tomatoes are certified with the “Organic Master Certificate” issued by the independent certification organization each year.

The organic or conventional tomatoes, publicly known as industrial type tomatoes, produced for utilizing as raw material in the industrial production, are processed by the food factories processing agricultural raw materials, and offered to end customers in the forms of paste, puree and various sauces.
